FRP lamination (FRP lining) protects concrete, mild steel and stainless steel from chemicals, corrosion and leaks. Primer, 2 to 5 plies of glass mat, surface veil and waxed topcoat, with GP, ISO or vinyl ester resin.
FRP Lamination (FRP Lining) Service
FRP lamination, also called FRP lining, is a fiberglass reinforced plastic layer built up by hand on concrete, mild steel or stainless steel to protect it from chemicals, corrosion and leaks. Mui Fatt applies the lining at your site or at our factory, with GP, ISO or vinyl ester resin chosen for the job.

How we apply FRP lining
- Site visit: our technical staff check the tank or equipment before work starts.
- Surface preparation: concrete (cured about 28 days) is blasted to remove laitance; steel is ground to remove rust; dust is vacuumed off.
- Priming and levelling: resin primer by brush or roller; small defects filled with FRP putty.
- Lamination: each ply of glass mat is laid into wet resin and rolled to remove trapped air, then the surface veil.
- Topcoat and inspection: waxed resin topcoat, then a visual inspection for blisters, cracks and trapped air.
We work at 10°C to 50°C, relative humidity below 90%, with the surface at least 3 K above dew point, and not in rain.

Questions About FRP Lamination
Which resin do I need?
GP resin suits waterproofing. ISO or vinyl ester suits chemical service. Tell us the chemical, its strength and temperature and we will advise.
Why is there no thickness test?
A magnetic gauge cannot read FRP on steel, so we count the plies laid. You are welcome to witness the work.
Can you do the work at our site?
Yes. We line on site or at our factory, depending on the size of the item.
