Sizes

Both beams are 6.35 mm (1/4 in) thick in web and flanges.

FRP beams are bolted with stainless steel bolts and FRP angle clips, so frames can be built on site without welding or hot work permits.

Material and Finish

• Process: pultruded E-glass rovings and mat with a surface veil that keeps glass fibres from the surface and improves UV and corrosion resistance
• Resin: isophthalic polyester as standard; vinyl ester or fire-retardant (ASTM E84) on request
• Colour: RAL 7035 light grey; other colours on request
• Properties: light, rust free, non-conductive and resistant to chemicals and salt air

Are FRP beams as strong as steel?
FRP beams are lighter and less stiff than steel, so they are sized for deflection. They never rust and need no painting.

What colour are they?
RAL 7035 light grey as standard.
