The IB 152.4 x 76.2 x 6.35 is a pultruded fiberglass (FRP) I-beam: depth x flange width 152.4 x 76.2 mm (6 x 3 in); thickness 6.35 mm (1/4 in). It is the larger of our two I-beams, used as a main beam for platforms and walkways. It is made in Malaysia by Hexagon MF Composite Sdn Bhd, Mui Fatt's pultrusion sister company, in isophthalic polyester resin with a surface veil, in RAL 7035 light grey, and supplied by Mui Fatt.

Material and Features
- Rust free: does not corrode in water, salt air or most chemicals
- Non-conductive: does not conduct electricity, safer near cables and electrical plant
- Light: much lighter than steel, so it is easy to carry and fit by hand
- Surface veil: keeps glass fibres below the surface and improves UV and corrosion resistance
- Easy to work: cut and drilled with standard power tools; seal cut edges with resin

Choosing This Size
The 6 x 3 in beam has a wide 76.2 mm flange that gives good bearing for grating and secondary beams, and its depth allows longer spans than the 4 x 2 in beam. It is a common main beam for FRP platforms.
