How the FRP Bio-Filter Works

Sewage first enters the settling chamber, where solids settle out. The liquid then rises through plastic bio-media, where bacteria break down fine particles and dissolved matter. The treated effluent leaves through the outlet by gravity. There are no moving parts, and the up-flow filter does not clog. A separate access to the settling zone and a large outlet make desludging easy.

Installation in Brief

Dig the pit with 300 to 600 mm working space all round. Cast a 150 mm Grade 30 concrete base with BRC-A9 mesh and four stainless steel anchor hooks. Strap the tank down with SS 304 straps, fill it with water, then backfill with sand in 150 mm layers. A vertical tank (MF2, MF3, MF20) needs less ground area. A horizontal tank (MFR2, MFR3, MFR24, MFR30) is lower, so the pit is shallower, which helps on hard ground or where the water table is high.
