FRP Manhole and Sump Covers in Malaysia
MuiGrate FRP manhole, sump and trench covers replace rusting steel and heavy concrete covers on inspection chambers, sumps, drains and platforms. They are made from pultruded FRP grating or anti-slip chequered plate in isophthalic polyester or vinyl ester resin with a UV-resistant finish, and come with an FRP or mild steel frame. - Grating depth: 25, 38 or 50 mm.
- Surface: plain, gritted (anti-slip) or chequered plate.
- Hinges: aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel; handles and embossed logo on request.
- Colours: grey, yellow, green and others.
- SIRIM: a SIRIM certificate is available for these covers; ask us for a copy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes can FRP sump covers be made in?
Up to 3.0 m (10 ft) long and 1.2 to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft) wide, in 25, 38 or 50 mm grating depth. Larger openings use double-leaf covers.
Grating or chequered plate?
Open grating lets air and water through and suits drains and pits. Chequered plate is a solid, anti-slip top that hides the pit and helps control odours.
Can FRP covers take vehicles?
These covers are designed for pedestrian traffic. Vehicle use is only allowed when Mui Fatt has confirmed the design for it.
Which resin and colours are available?
Isophthalic polyester or vinyl ester resin, with a fire-retardant option. Standard colours are grey, yellow and green.
