In 2012, Mui Fatt was commissioned to fabricate 50 units of cartoon-themed kiddie carts for Aeon Mall. Designed to resemble cheerful, train-like rides, these FRP carts featured bright red colors, friendly cartoon characters, and built-in child seating, making shopping a fun experience for families. The project aimed to enhance safety and enjoyment for children in high-traffic indoor entertainment zones. Each cart was fabricated to strict safety standards, including smooth, rounded edges, UV-stable coatings, and vibrant, easy-to-clean finishes that appeal to kids. Practical features like powder-coated metal baskets, smooth-rolling wheels, and ergonomic handles were also incorporated to ensure functionality and user convenience.
FRP was the ideal material for this project thanks to its lightweight structure, high impact resistance, and long-term durability - especially in environments with frequent handling. Unlike wooden or plastic alternatives, FRP resists cracking, warping, and staining, making it particularly suitable for public play zones. Its non-porous surface ensures excellent hygiene and low maintenance, outperforming conventional materials that tend to corrode or degrade under heavy daily use in retail settings.
