The MG 38-20 is a 38 mm thick MuiGrate FRP (fibreglass) molded grating with minimesh, 20 x 20 mm on top and 40 x 40 mm below. A full standard panel measures 1,007 x 4,047 mm (3.3 x 13.3 ft) and weighs 89 kg. It is made in one piece in Port Klang, Selangor, and is SIRIM certified to BS 4592-6:2008.

This page is the full panel. We also cut it at the factory to any size up to the full panel. As a walkway, MG 38-20 supports up to 1,219 mm apart for 100 kg foot traffic and 914 mm for 500 kg, or 610 mm for 1,000 kg.

Span is the clear gap between supports. Static loads at 1% deflection, safety factor 2.0. Pedestrian traffic only (BS 4592), not vehicles.

Can you cut it to my size?
Yes. We cut any width and length up to a full panel at the factory, to ±5 mm. Pieces smaller than 300 x 300 mm need a check with us first. Ready sizes are 4 x 8 ft and 4 x 4 ft.

How far apart can the supports be?
For 100 kg foot traffic, up to 1,219 mm. See the span guide above for heavier loads.

Can cars or lorries drive on it?
No. MuiGrate FRP grating is designed for pedestrian traffic only, as BS 4592 sets out. For areas with vehicles, use a steel or concrete cover.
