Data Centre GRP Sectional Rainwater Storage Tank
The FRP-ST-DC-RAIN is a GRP sectional panel tank for storing harvested rainwater at a data centre, for reuse such as cooling tower make-up, toilet flushing, washing and irrigation. It is bolted together on site from 1 m x 1 m and 1 m x 1.5 m panels, so it can be sized to your roof catchment and reuse demand, and carried into tight plant areas panel by panel. The panels are made by Y.T. Fibreglass Industries Sdn Bhd, the tank is SIRIM QAS certified to MS 1390:2010 and registered with SPAN, and Mui Fatt Marketing Sdn Bhd supplies and installs it across Peninsular Malaysia.

Questions About Data Centre Rainwater Tanks
Can harvested rainwater be used for drinking?
Not without treatment. Rainwater from a roof is for non-potable reuse unless it is treated to drinking water quality. Keep drinking water in a separate domestic cold water tank.
What size do I need?
It depends on the roof area, local rainfall and how much water the site reuses each day. Send us these figures and we will suggest a size.
Why a sectional tank for rainwater?
It can be built to almost any size on site, the panels block light so algae cannot grow, and GRP does not rust. A damaged panel can be exchanged without replacing the tank.
Can it be installed at ground level or on the roof?
Both. At ground level it collects water from the downpipes; on a roof it must be checked by your structural engineer for the full load.
