FRP Round Open-Top Tank with Conical Base and Support
Cone-bottom FRP tank on a support stand, used as a clarifier, bio tank, coagulation tank and PAC chemical holding tank. Diameter 1 m to 3 m, built to your drawing with the resin matched to the liquid.
FRP Round Open-Top Tank with Conical Base and Support - Clarifier and PAC Tank
An FRP round open-top tank with a conical bottom, standing on its own support frame. The cone gathers settled solids at one outlet for easy draw-off, which is why wastewater treatment contractors use it as a clarifier, bio tank, coagulation tank and PAC chemical holding tank. In Malay it is often searched as tangki PAC FRP.
Key Features
- Cone bottom: settled solids collect at one bottom outlet.
- Support stand: bare mild steel, mild steel laminated with FRP, or pultruded FRP.
- Seamless body: filament wound in one piece, then laminated.
- Resin matched to the liquid: GP, ISO or vinyl ester.
- Built to your drawing: diameter, height and nozzles made to suit your plant.

Applications
- Clarifier
- Bio tank
- Coagulation tank
- PAC chemical holding tank
Resin Selection
- GP (orthophthalic polyester): for water and mild, non-aggressive liquids.
- ISO (isophthalic polyester): a premium polyester with good chemical resistance.
- Vinyl ester: for severe corrosion, including strong acids and alkalis, hydrocarbons and organic solvents.
- Hybrid: vinyl ester inside for chemical resistance, GP outside for economy.
Laminate Strength
The tank uses the same FRP laminate as the Mui Tank range: 103.0 MPa tensile strength (limit 70 min), 182.4 MPa bending strength (limit 100 min) and 0.15% water absorption (limit 1.0 max).
Installation
- Sit the tank stand on a level concrete plinth at least 250 mm (10 in) above ground.
- Lift only when empty, using the lifting lugs.
- Support every connecting pipe and valve on its own footing.

- The chemical or liquid, its concentration and its temperature
- Tank size or drawing, and nozzle positions
- Support type and options such as cover, ladder or railing
FAQ
Why a conical bottom? Settled solids slide to one bottom outlet, so they can be drawn off without emptying the tank.
Which support stand should I choose? Bare mild steel is the most economical. FRP-laminated mild steel or pultruded FRP suits corrosive areas.
Can it be used for PAC? Yes. It is often ordered as a PAC chemical holding tank.
