FRP Round Open-Top Tank, Flat Base - Simple Holding Tank for Wastewater Plants

An FRP round open-top tank with a flat base, used to hold pre-treatment water, sludge water and other liquids in a wastewater treatment plant. The body is filament wound in one piece, so there are no panel joints to leak, and the resin is matched to the liquid it will hold. In Malay it is often searched as tangki air sisa FRP.

Key Features

  • Seamless body: filament wound in one piece, then laminated.
  • Resin matched to the liquid: GP, ISO or vinyl ester.
  • See the level: optional semi-transparent strip down the side, or a transparent level tube.
  • Corrosion resistant: FRP does not rust like mild steel.
  • Built to your drawing: diameter and height made to suit your plant.

Applications

  • Pre-treatment water holding
  • Sludge water holding
  • Other holding tanks in wastewater and sewage treatment plants

Resin Selection

  • GP (orthophthalic polyester): for water and mild, non-aggressive liquids.
  • ISO (isophthalic polyester): a premium polyester with good chemical resistance.
  • Vinyl ester: for severe corrosion, including strong acids and alkalis, hydrocarbons and organic solvents.
  • Hybrid: vinyl ester inside for chemical resistance, GP outside for economy.

Laminate Strength

The tank uses the same FRP laminate as the Mui Tank range: 103.0 MPa tensile strength (limit 70 min), 182.4 MPa bending strength (limit 100 min) and 0.15% water absorption (limit 1.0 max).

Installation

  • Sit the tank on a level concrete plinth at least 250 mm (10 in) above ground.
  • Lift only when empty, using the lifting lugs.
  • Support every connecting pipe and valve on its own footing.

What to Tell Us for a Quote

  • The chemical or liquid, its concentration and its temperature
  • Tank size or drawing, and nozzle positions
  • Support type and options such as cover, ladder or railing

FAQ
