Round or square: which should I choose?
Both hold the same capacity at 1 m high. The round MT-440/C suits open floor areas; the square MT-440 fits better against walls and in corners.

Is it safe for drinking water?

Fit a backing plate outside the tank at the ball valve, use plastic or rubber washers and PTFE tape (no putty or jointing compound), cut pipe holes with a hole saw or sharp punch, support all pipes, and keep the tank away from heaters and lamps.
