The MST-60 is Mui Fatt's FRP (fibreglass) small sewage treatment system (SSTS) for sites of up to 60 PE (population equivalent), or about 12 houses. It is one horizontal tank, 2,561 mm long, 2,400 mm wide and 2,650 mm high, holding 10,156 litres. It treats domestic sewage by upflow activated sludge to Modified Standard B effluent. The system is SIRIM certified, Mui Fatt is registered with SPAN, and it is built to IWK guidelines.

How It Works
Sewage enters the lower part of the tank, where solids settle and break down without air (anaerobic). The liquid then rises into the aeration chamber, where air from the blowers is pumped in through the built-in diffuser so that bacteria (activated sludge) treat it aerobically. Treated water leaves through the 150 mm outlet.
