MuiGrate FRP Pultruded Grating Panels (ML and MFG Series)

MuiGrate pultruded grating is made from pultruded FRP (fibreglass) bars, about 65% glass and 35% resin, laid in one direction and tied into panels. It comes in 25, 38 and 50 mm depths with 50 to 60% open area, and is SIRIM certified (licence PM072601) to BS 4592 Part 4.

Pultruded bars are stronger than molded grating in one direction, so they span further between supports. Panels are cut to size and can be supplied with a frame and hinges as trench and sump covers.

Why FRP

No rust, no scrap value: FRP does not corrode and has no resale value, so covers are not stolen like steel.
Light: one or two workers lift a cover without machinery.
Non-conductive: safe near pumps, panels and cables.
Long one-way spans: pultruded bars carry load further in one direction than molded grating.

Questions and Answers

Pultruded or molded grating?
Pultruded bars span further in one direction. Molded grating is stronger both ways, takes impact better and is easier to cut around pipes.

Is it SIRIM certified?
Yes. MuiGrate pultruded grating holds SIRIM licence PM072601 to BS 4592 Part 4. A copy is available on request.

Can you supply it with a frame?
Yes, with an FRP or mild steel frame and aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel hinges.

Can vehicles drive over it?
No. MuiGrate FRP grating and covers are designed for pedestrian traffic only, as BS 4592 sets out. Vehicle loads void the warranty unless Mui Fatt has certified the design.
