FRP Structural Profile System for Frames, Platforms and Supports
The FRP structural profile system is a set of pultruded fiberglass (FRP) shapes, such as I-beams, C-channels, angles, square hollow sections, round tubes, flat bars and rods, that are cut and bolted together into frames, platforms, pipe and cable supports, walkways and cooling tower structures. The profiles are made by pultrusion with isophthalic polyester resin and a surface veil, in RAL 7035 light grey. They come from our pultrusion partner Hexagon MF Composite Sdn Bhd in Port Klang and replace steel where it rusts.

Material and Features
- Material: Pultruded fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), isophthalic polyester resin
- No rust: the glass and resin do not corrode in wet, salty or chemical air
- Non-conductive: safer around cables, panels and switchgear
- Light: much lighter than steel, so frames are lifted and fixed by hand
- No painting: the colour runs through the material
- Surface veil: protects the glass fibres at the surface against UV and corrosion

Can FRP profiles replace steel beams and channels?
Yes, for light structures such as platforms, walkways and supports in corrosive areas. FRP is less stiff than steel, so the frame must be sized for FRP. Send your drawing and loads and we will check the sections.
What resin is standard?
Isophthalic polyester. Vinyl ester for strong chemicals, or fire-retardant resin (ASTM E84), can be made on request.
How are the profiles joined?
They are cut and drilled on site with normal tools and bolted together. Cut edges should be sealed with resin.
