The AB 50.8 x 50.8 x 6.35 is a pultruded fiberglass (FRP) equal angle bar: leg size 50.8 x 50.8 mm (2 x 2 in), equal legs; thickness 6.35 mm (1/4 in). It is the smallest of our three equal angles and is used for brackets, cleats and grating ledges. It is made in Malaysia by Hexagon MF Composite Sdn Bhd, Mui Fatt's pultrusion sister company, in isophthalic polyester resin with a surface veil, in RAL 7035 light grey, and supplied by Mui Fatt.

Choosing This Size

The 2 inch angle is the usual choice for connection cleats between FRP tubes and channels, for grating support ledges along trenches and pits, and for light bracing. Its 6.35 mm leg leaves enough material around a bolt hole for most joints.

Can this angle hold FRP grating?

Yes. 2 x 2 in FRP angles are often fixed along the edges of pits and trenches as a ledge for FRP grating. Spacing of fixings depends on the load.

Is the angle equal or unequal?

Equal. Both legs are 50.8 mm and the thickness is 6.35 mm.

Is a fire-retardant version available?

Yes. Profiles in fire-retardant resin to ASTM E84 are made on request. Vinyl ester resin is also available on request for stronger chemicals.
